The humanity of yesterday. Our day-to-day lives were filled with discovery, enlightenment, and dreams of a better tomorrow. For the first time in human history, we seemed to control our destiny. But the universe was unimpressed and sent us a cruel reminder of our real place in the natural order.
Without warning or provocation, a fleet of alien spacecraft descended to Earth and launched a devastating attack. The Bane were impossibly advanced, merciless, and seemingly unstoppable. Our cities were annihilated, and mankind was on the brink of extinction.
But the seeds for Mankind’s deliverance had been planted on our home centuries before by the Eloh, estranged cousins of the Bane. In Earth’s twilight hours, by fate or by design, we discovered the advanced technology they left behind and used it to create wormhole portals; doorways to other planets. These portals allowed the lucky and able to escape the confines of Earth and travel to a handful of alien worlds.
On these worlds we found allies; other sentient creatures fighting for their survival against the ruthless Bane. We had a choice. Join together, or die alone.
And so, the Army of the Allied Free Sentients was born.
